Connecticut Mentorship Program Workshop Series (Open to all) Saturday, April 12, 2008 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at ASD West Hartford " Presenter: Kellie Stewart How can the study of ethics inform our everyday decision-making process? How do our personal experiences, biases and lenses affect the decisions we make each day? Where do values and principles come from that help guide decision-making, whether at the personal level or within the field of interpreting? This interactive workshop explores ethical standards and dilemmas within the interpreting field through engaging in small and large group discussion, case study analysis and active debate. Participants will examine issues related to conflicts of interest, how to distinguish between true ethical dilemmas and the more typical professional decisions we make each day. Concepts such as integrity, responsibility, trust, commitment, duty, etc., will also be explored as we learn to apply tenets of the new RID Professional Code of Conduct within our work. A registration form for this workshop will soon be available for downloading from this page. For more information, contact Kellyann Parry at 860-618-2427 or ctcmpp@gmail.com.
