The first of four for this year, this support meeting will include both a skill building time as well as an opportunity to pray for each other and practice what we'll be learning about. Interpreting in church settings can be difficult and isolating, as can serving in deaf ministry. The need for healthy support is crucial! People who completed the survey told me that they were interested in learning more about this subject, so here's your chance! The skill building time will consist of discussion, question and answer, hands on activities, written exercises and teaching to help attendees better understand the need and importance of having a healthy support network and what you can do to develop and maintain it.

Our speaker is currently serving as the director of TABCOM Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministries, but had previously been with Vision New England for 14 years doing the same. She is state screened in Massachusetts and works as a free lance interpreter also. Prior to having her daughter four years ago, Anne taught on the subject of developing a support network in mental health settings where she worked and has a great deal of experience both teaching on this subject and 'practicing what she preaches' (how's that for an idiom!).

Come and learn how you can have a healthy support network so you are not going it alone!
