Lighting the Way!!

RID's Region III Conference
July 23-26, 2008
Columbus, Ohio

An invitation is extended to all interested persons to submit a paper
for consideration for RID's Region III conference.

Of particular interest to deaf and hearing interpreters are papers
representing current research studies related to linguistics,
culture, and interpreting; interpreting in various settings, i.e.
culturally rich and diverse situations, legal, medical, mental health
and religious setting; and preparation training for CDI. Non-
interpreting related topics will also be considered. The conference
is designing a program around 3 hour blocks of time, however
proposals for 6 hour sessions will also be considered.

Presenters will receive: conference registration; overnight
accommodation and per diem for the day of presentation; travel
reimbursement up to $350; and an honorarium of $300 for a 3 hour
presentation. Honorarium for presentations longer than 3 hours will be
negotiated.

Submission process
To be considered for this program, submit the following
electronically by January 12, 2008:

1) The completed Presentation Proposal Form (provided in a separate
file).

2) A .doc or .pdf file, not exceeding two pages in length, that
includes:
a. A clear outline of your educational objectives.
b. A one-paragraph summary of your proposal for the conference program
book.
c. A one-paragraph biographical sketch of the presenter(s).

3) The presenter(s) resume(s).
