Connecticut Mentorship Program Workshop Series

"Introductory Voicing Skills"

Presenter:  Kate Gavigan

This workshop will provide the opportunity for interpreters to receive helpful voicing strategies to enhance their current skills.  The workshop will include the following techniques:

  • role play

  • videotapes

  • videotape review

Kathleen Gavigan, a veteran of the interpreting world here in Connecticut, holds her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of New York and her Associates in Interpreting and Support Services for the Deaf from The National Technical Institute for the Deaf.  Kate presently works for The Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired and holds her TC.  She works in a variety of settings including medical, mental health and secondary education.  Her enthusiasm for the field and learning is contagious.
