During the 2007 RID Conference in San Francisco , Motions E-S were referred to the Strategic Challenges and Bylaws Review Task Force (SCBRTF). These motions relate to the RID membership categories and voting categories. The other RID Regions hosted the SCBRTF and held discussion forums during their Regional Conferences. However , since Region I did not hold a Regional Conference during 2008 , we did not have the opportunity to meet with the task force as a Region. While NJRID very generously held a SCBLRTF Forum at the conclusion of their conference in November , we recognize that not everyone from the region was able to travel to the meeting , and we wanted to provide another opportunity to collect feedback and suggestions from Region I. In order to provide another avenue for the Region I members to receive this same information that was shared during the Forums , and to encourage discussion and solicit comments , the Region I Presidents decided to establish a Yahoo! Group.
What is the purpose of the Yahoo! Group? To provide the basic information to the Region I members that was provided to the members of the other regions at their Regional Conferences and to gather comments from the Region I members.
What information/documents are on the RegISCBRTF Yahoo! Group? 1. Part of the 2007 RID Business Meeting Minutes - containing the original motions E-S that were referred to the SCBRTF. 2. SCBRTF PowerPoint - is the PowerPoint presentation that shows what the SCBRTF has discussed and is currently considering. 3. SCBRTF Update Fall 2008 - an article that was in the Fall 2008 VIEWS that provides some details and a timeline for the SCBRTF.
How do I join the RegISCBRTF yahoo group? 1. Send an email to Aaron at ajgdis@yahoo.com or Cindi at cindi@cbrownasl.com from the email address that you want to use to join the group. This discussion group is for Region I members only. Requests from RID members who are not Region I members will be denied. 2. You will receive an invitation. 3. Follow the instructions in the invitation to join the group. Note: You will need to establish a Yahoo ID if you do not already have one.
What will happen with our discussions/suggestions? Our two moderators will summarize the discussions/suggestions and send them to the taskforce. Please note that the deadline for submitting feedback is March 1 , 2009.
