The CRID Board of Directors The CRID Board of Directors is comprised of a President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and three members at large. Currently, the responsibilities of one of the members-at-large position is being shared by two members. For information on the duties and responsibilities of each position, please refer to Article IV, Section 4(b) of CRID's Constitution and Bylaws. President: Tammy Boutin, CI and CT Tammy has been an interpreter for the West Hartford Board of Education for seven years and a per diem interpreter for Family Services Woodfield for the past five years. She has interpreted in educational, medical, community, corporate and legal settings. She has also been a Local Test Administrator (LTA) for RID for the past couple of years. Tammy was born and raised in Connecticut. She received her Associate's degree in Interpreting and a Certificate in Deaf Studies from Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC). She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in American Studies from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford and is currently attending Quinnipiac University School of Law. Tammy has been a member of CRID since 1999 and, prior to assuming the presidency, served two years as Recording Secretary. Tammy can be reached at President@CRIDonline.com. Vice President: Anna-Marie Cartagena, CI and CT Anna-Marie started interpreting as many students do - in church. After getting her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts at Southern Connecticut State University, she decided to take courses at NCCC in order to pursue a career in interpreting. Anna-Marie has been in the interpreting field since 1987. She has been an educational interpreter since that time and has worked with students in pre-school all the way up to the graduate level. She also works in a variety of settings for FSW. Anna-Marie is married and has two cats. She loves to bake as most participants in CRID's meetings and workshops can attest. She also loves Hawaii. Treasurer: Zoe Ann Kaminski, CSC Zoe Ann graduated in 1976 with an MS in Deaf Education from a collaborative program between Canisius College and St. Mary's School for the Deaf in Buffalo, NY. After teaching in the Buffalo area for a short time, she moved to Connecticut to teach at the American School for the Deaf (ASD). She is presently dually employed as an interpreter by CDHI and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health. Zoe Ann was the treasurer of CRID for eight years back in the late 80's and early 90's and has performed with The CRIDDERS for a total of twenty seasons. She edited an article about The CRIDDERS which was published in the RID Views in 2001 and reprinted by Dr. Frank Caccamise in his book on ASL vocabulary and information related to Deaf theater. She has been involved as a field supervisor for NCCC interpreting practicum students for almost twenty years and has presented workshops in Maine and Connecticut on interpreting in mental health settings. Member-At-Large: Anna Maria Rinaldi, RSC and CDI-P Anna Maria is an alumnus of ASD, Gallaudet University, and California State University at Northridge (CSUN). She was one of the first staff counselors at Camp Isola Bella in 1964. Anna Maria was a member of the RID Board from 1980 to 1982. In the early 1970's, she began teaching in a variety of interpreter preparation programs in Georgia, Oregon, Washington, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Today she is an instructor in both ASL and Deaf Studies at Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC) in Winsted. Anna Maria holds a RSC/CDI-P from RID. She has a passion for community theater and has been with Sound Off, Connecticut's Community Theater by and for the Deaf, since 2001. She is now a two-term Member-at-Large with CRID as of June, 2005. Member-At-Large: Leslie Warren, CI and CT Leslie currently holds the position of Interpreter Coordinator at John Dempsey Hospital at the UCONN Health Center in Farmington, CT, and is a part-time interpreter for CDHI and FSW. She has been a member of CRID since 1978 and has held several offices in the organization through the years. As an adjunct instructor at NCCC for many years, she has taught courses in interpreting, artistic interpreting, transliterating, and voicing. With Keith Vinci, she has presented workshops and training seminars over the last twenty years locally and throughout the US and Canada at regional and national RID conferences. Leslie was the plenary speaker last year at the Region III Conference in Indiana. She is the founder and artistic director of The CRIDDERS, a performing group that has won numerous awards and citations for its work including an Official Citation from the Connecticut General Assembly, The Hartford Courant Volunteer Recognition Award, and a Special Community Service Award from ASD presented in 2003. She is a former Music and Movement Instructor and Sign Language Coordinator at the American School for the Deaf, as well as former Interpreter Coordinator at Family Services Woodfield. Leslie is the recipient of the Jean Kennedy Smith Award (Very Special Arts - National) and the recipient of RID's Distinguished Service Award several years ago at the national conference in Orlando. Member-At-Large: Erin O'Brien, CT Erin graduated with honors from Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC) in 1994 and has been an interpreter for the Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired (CDHI) for twelve years. She went on to complete her bachelor of science degree at Springfield College (MA), and then started her Masters in Special Education at St. Joseph College in West Hartford. Erin originally wanted to be a music teacher, and she studied with members of the Syracuse Symphony from the age of nine until her family moved to Connecticut when she was fifteen. She continued her studies for a short time at the Hartt School of Music, but after seeing an interpreter at work in a college class, she fell in love with the process and decided to follow that career path.
