The Connecticut Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf  (CRID) was founded in 1971, and is one of more than 60 local chapters with the national Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)

Our Goals are:

• To Promote and maintain the RID Code of Professional Conduct for interpreters and transliterators.
• To Foster professional support for interpreters, novice through experienced, attaining new information and knowledge in areas that concern the interpreting profession.
• To Provide the opportunity for an exchange of ideas and information through workshops, training seminars, meetings, and socials
• To Encourage interpreters, professionals in related fields, and community members to be involved in the advancement of the profession.
• To Support organizations and activities of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
